This is freaking great! 100 places to order groceries online. Yes, even frozen and perishable items. I was actually just ordering Yerba Mate and Brazilian Coffee from Amigo Foods, and I’m excited about Amazon’s new grocery features which, since they went to soap and diapers, is hugely important news. What I think the switch to online ordering portends for us is an increased opportunity for delayed gratification. Even if only 8% of Black Friday sales were online, that’s largely because one can pretend a little (about one’s financies) with store shopping – it’s harder to do that when you’re looking at an online shopping cart add up, and there are still plenty of people who still can’t figure out how to use e-mail (they will, because everyone else will just leave them behind, or they’ll just die off eventually). But down the road, shipping will get faster and cheaper, too. Seriously. You’ll order things and they’ll arrive same day. It’s already that way in major cities like New York City and Chicago with groceries and other things – it’ll just become more common in the Midwest too. Shipping is about to evolve – invest, invest folks. Anyway, here’s the 100 places [link].
